RigaComm 2026 is over

RigaComm 2026 is over

RigaComm 2026 is over. And I needed a while to process everything.

Finding 1: people are people. We still invent, looking for a new goals and ways of achieving it. And the hype makes we often look the same.

AI is making software more adjusted and therefore unique, just like we are. Each of us and each team can be more flexible these days and still have a great tools. Uniqueness will become a thing again.

Finding 2: Cybersecurity is hot. At the same time LLMs are extremely capable, but these are hidden in the labs. It doesn't mean jobs are safe in the industry, it means there are so many critical problems, that using LLMs is impossible because of the risks. I honestly would like to try white hat - after building software for years I'm curious to experience how breaking it feels like. But the signal is strong - that's temporally, and agents are doing so much more and so much faster these days.

Finding 3: Amplification is a real thing. And the challenge is to make "good" guys being as effective as a "bad" guys. This is applicable to any confrontation: managerial, cybersecurity, inter-human.

I think the reason for that is "bad" guys are much more motivated, it's just the chosen option might be more self-centered. It feels like once we could merge own interests with community interests again - we would advance much faster.

And last: people are people. We enjoy conversations, we get exhausting by uncertainty really fast and yet we're surviving another storm.
