Even a small step matters
A global network we call Internet raised civilization to the next level. It brings new opportunities, discoveries, possibilities. And nothing is free. It brings challenges.
Especially now, in the era of generative content that’s so easy to fall for a trap of other’s success. Success, that doesn’t mean someone made. Success that means that we failed.
Celebrating small wins
Years ago this culture looked like total mess. And now I know why. Because the environment I met this culture for the first time was a total decoration. The reality was hidden behind the lies, and that virtual reality was celebrated. Back those days I was sure, and I must note I am still sure, it is better to accept the failure rather than start living in the dreams.
Disconnecting with the reality is the diagnosis, not superpower. Unrecognized and unconcious failures stacks to become a huge problem. The moment we do not expect it to happen. The moment we see ourselves so close to a big goal. And instead it becomes a disaster.
But being humble enough to accept and learn from mistakes and failures we write our own story. We fill our life with experience. And this is a matter of consistency and time to convert it to success. Small successes, that are worth celebrating. These stacks over time as well and commit to huge success.
Consistency, again
I failed so many times to be consistent that the last time I decided... I don’t care anymore. If I’m going for a walk once a day but there are days I do it at the lunch time - it doesn’t change much. It’s still better than sitting in front of my computer for additional hour.
Now I challenged myself with hitting 100 published articles on this blog. I don’t have time to craft and overthink topics, decide which one to pick and which to develop. I have too much on my plate and this is finally awesome. I have a freedom of sitting for 30-40 minutes and write about a thought I find valuable today.
Catching the moment
It is important to have plans and a vision for the future. And it’s important to keep enjoying and catching the moment, without sacrificing too much for the perfect future. If today isn’t good - why do we care about better tomorrow? We start to care tomorrow to not be worth. And to be honest - it usually is.
I noticed this a while ago. When my mind registers an idea for the first time - it often looks amazing. “Wow, that’s cool!” or “Impressive, I couldn’t imagine I could approach that from this specific perspective”. Then thing I noticed this effect is not living for long. Sometimes it fades the next day, sometimes - a week. Rarely - months. Then it fades, looses colors and taste and does not matters anymore. I call it implementation window.
I believe we don’t get ideas and opportunities randomly. These are connected to the context. This is why it depends who are we with, what do we do, what we hear and see etc. We resonate. When we are ready to resonate - initiation happens. Then, if we decide to keep the context, dive deeper and stay attached - we may raise the volume, resonate back and initiate others.
It seems like sometimes we can keep those vibrations for a while and postpone the deep dive loosing the initial impulse just a bit. Otherwise, if we change the context aka “I don’t have time” - we move to far away. Initial impulse is gone and there is nothing around us that can echo and keep us vibrating.
At this point we are disconnected from the idea, loosing the context and entropy is erasing this from this layer of reality and later - from our memory.
I’m not saying we have to resonate with anything. Or, actually, we don’t have to stick with anything we resonate with. After all we have a free will, and we can choose. This have a deeper sense. Yet one of the rules I learned last year: “If you don’t know what to do - start moving your body”. If we don’t know how and what environment we want to be surrounded - let’s expose our body to new options. There is always a chance to feel that itch again if we keep trying.
